It always churns my stomach to see someone’s creation taken away from them. It’s one of my biggest fears as an artist and aspiring creator of things, to pour my heart and soul into something I’ve brought into being, and then ultimately be excluded from it.
Cruel. Cruel cruel cruel.
Why does Dan Harmon’s forced departure from the show he had created matter? Imagine if Shakespeare was fired off of the first production of “Much Ado About Nothing,” and then the show continued to run without him. It would have appeared as an absurd and unlikely turn of events, then. It should be considered just as absurd today, and yet, here we are with the ever-promising, yet (as of posting) still fired television writer, showrunner, and creator of “Community,” Dan Harmon.
